The student athletes will train and compete with peers of similar ability. The team welcomes riders of all skill levels. Junior Development athletes in 7th and 8th grade compete in 3 races. The high school athletes in 9th through 12 grades compete in 4 to 5 races. Coaches will help place riders in one of the race categories according to league rules:
Eligibility
- Must be a 7 - 12 grade student living within the Farmington High School boundaries
- Commit to follow league and team rules
- Pay team and league fees
- Posses required equipment
Team Rules
- Participate in at least 50% of practices
- Bring required equipment to all practices
Fees
- League fees cover NICA membership, practices, race fees, and insurance
- Team fees cover jersey, bibs, t-shirt, socks, hat, FHS water bottle, team registration, team equipment, race day supplies and food, and team banquet
Required Equipment
- Mountain Bike - good working order with multiple gears, functioning front and rear brakes, 1.75 inch or wider knobby tires, and no handle bar extensions
- Helmet - proper fit and good condition
- Gloves - preferably full finger
- Tool Kit - spare inner tube, tire levers, multi-tool, hand pump or CO2 with inflator
- Shoes - closed toe (no sandals)
- Water bottles or hydration pack
- Eye protection
